چکیده

Abstract We analyze the impact of in utero temperature exposure on birth weight and an indicator for low using administrative data singleton live births conceived between 2000 2016 Hungary. find that to high temperatures during pregnancy decreases weight, but its probability is weaker. Exposure one additional hot day (mean > 25 °C) gestation period reduces by 0.46 g, relative a 15–20 °C day. The second third trimesters appear be slightly more sensitive than first trimester. project climate change will decrease increase prevalence mid-twenty-first century. projected impacts are strongest newborns winter spring months.

Climate Change and Birth Weight.

There is a growing consensus that emissions of greenhouse gases due to human activity will alter the earth’s climate, most notably by causing temperatures, precipitation levels, and weather variability to increase. The design of optimal climate change mitigation policies requires estimates of the health and other benefits of reductions in greenhouse gases; current evidence on the magnitude of t...

Birth weight and stuttering: Evidence from three birth cohorts.

PURPOSE Previous studies have produced conflicting results with regard to the association between birth weight and developmental stuttering. This study sought to determine whether birth weight was associated with childhood and/or adolescent stuttering in three British birth cohort samples. METHODS Logistic regression analyses were carried out on data from the Millenium Cohort Study (MCS), Bri...

Climate change effects on economic growth: mixed empirical evidence

West Africa is vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This paper analyzed the impacts of climate change on economic growth in Anglophone West Africa with similar background, during the periods 1969-2016. Five growth model equations have been developed to incorporate climate change variables into the model. Panel data estimations such as the fixed effect model, random effect model and Haus...

Regional Climate Change Expected in Hungary for 2071-2100

Expected climate change estimations for the Carpathian basin and especially, Hungary, are summarized for the 2071-2100 period on the basis of the results from the project PRUDENCE. Different regional climate models (RCMs) used 50 km as the horizontal spatial resolution, and evaluated the A2 and B2 global emission scenarios. Results suggest that in case of temperature, a warming trend is evident...
